"Being surrounded by the traditions of my village and the warmth of our community, places like the beginning of the Gießenbachklamm hiking trail, with its large waterwheel, bring me peace and remind me of my deep roots in Kiefersfelden."

PHILIP

Kiefer is for me my home because I grew up here with my family and relatives. I know almost every beautiful spot in Kiefer, and the best part is how well everyone gets along, young and old, as if we’ve known each other forever. Everyone helps each other out.

The Wildbarrenpass (our Perchtenverein since 2013) is a highlight every year, where we chase away bad spirits in the winter with this tradition. Another important event for me is the Easter march, where a group of friends go from pub to pub and farmhouse to farmhouse from early morning till late at night, drinking a beer and a schnapps at each stop.

Growing up in Kiefer, I have many memories tied to this place. You meet familiar faces while shopping, walking, or strolling, and this sense of community is a big reason why I feel so connected to my village.

As a local, the development in the village is quite interesting, especially in finding work. Many of us are self-employed, so it’s easy to start working with friends. I think growing up in a village like Kiefer teaches you to be hands-on and resourceful, so few of us would choose to work in an office or spend the day shopping in the city.

I took my three pairs of Bavarian leather breeches as inspiration because our traditional costume represents home and belonging to me. These breeches reflect my deep connection to Kiefersfelden and its rich traditions. Wearing them makes me feel linked not only to my culture but also to the people and community in my village. They are my favorite items, symbolizing all the memories and the close bond I have with Kiefersfelden. These leather breeches are more than just clothing; they encapsulate the essence of my heritage and the spirit of my hometown.

The Giesenbachklamm and the Schopperalm are special to me, as I’ve been going there with my brother and his friends since I was little.

I have a special connection to the beginning of the hiking trail through the Gießenbachklamm, where there is a large waterwheel. This spot holds a special place in my heart because it’s where the first picture of me as a child in Kiefersfelden was taken. I love this place because it allows me to forget everything else and find peace.
