KATHARINA

Whenever we drove home from vacation and saw the mountains, we knew that we would soon be home again. My village is home for me, the place where my family and friends live. I associate a lot of my childhood with tradition. Like Palm Sunday, for example. We always went to church as a family (grandparents, parents, siblings, aunt, uncle and cousin) and then to carry the palms. Everyone wears traditional costumes and all the girls have a palm bouquet in their hands and all the boys have a palm branch. There was always a bit of competition among the boys in our village. My older brother always “fought” with the other boys to see who had the biggest palm branch, so our grandfather had to build/carve a bigger one every year. Part of my family grew up here and I hope I can raise my children here too, so that they can get to know village life.

"Home is where the mountains greet you, where traditions bind hearts, and where every corner echoes with cherished memories."

An “object” that i connect with Kiefersfelden is a hutch rabbit and I associate hutch rabbits with it because they remind me of my childhood. My grandpa had hutch rabbits, my dad had hutch rabbits and now my brothers are also interested in breeding hutch rabbits.

I chose the bench at the Inn dam because I always go for a walk there and its not far from my home. Whether it’s with the family and my little nephew or with my best friend, the Inn is a great place to switch off and the bench offers a fantastic view of the water and the mountains.
