"The Kieferer Puppet Theater is more than just a stage – it's a place of magic that has connected us for generations. As a family and as Kieferer, we take pride in this heritage."

For me, Kiefersfelden primarily means being close to my family. I grew up here and have lived in the village for 28 years. All generations of my family have lived and still live here, and I know my neighbors well, can enjoy outdoor activities and am surrounded by nature. For me, Kiefersfelden is more than just a village. It offers a good balance of rural idyll and urban convenience. Thanks to public transport, a wide range of shopping facilities and good healthcare, it has everything we need. Not forgetting the Bavarian culture, which is characterized by festivals and events that I really enjoy attending and meeting my friends.

Over 40 years ago, my grandmother founded the famous Kiefer puppet theater, in which she has written and performed more than 80 plays. The focus is always on the history of our village and the surrounding area. Today she owns around 400 puppets and figures that have been brought to life in the plays, and some time ago she even founded a puppet museum, which is located in the theater. As a child, I often sat backstage and let myself be carried away into the magical world of dragons, princesses and Kasperl figures. The place was my personal paradise, because there was always something new to discover. Today, we still like to meet up on Saturdays when there is a performance and help out behind the box office, selling toys or at the bar. The theater now makes an important contribution to cultural education for young and old and makes us very proud as a family and Kieferer.

The horse carousel has been in my family for more than 25 years. We all grew up in my grandmother’s theater, and the carousel was always a very special object for me. Even as a little girl, I used to sit on the horses before every performance or when I was just visiting. You could hardly get me off it. Today, of course, I’m too big to use it, but when children come to visit, it still gives them great pleasure. For me,

it is simply a symbol of my wonderful childhood in the village that brings back unforgettable memories.

As a real family person, I really appreciate spending time with my parents. I have found one of my favorite places on our mobile bench on the terrace. My dad is a very talented craftsman and together we built this cozy place according to my mom’s wishes and we like to enjoy our breakfast or afternoon coffee here when the weather is nice and the sun is shining. The bench is also perfect for a little nap. But my favorite thing to do here is to read a good book, enjoy the peace and quiet and, above all, admire the magnificent view of the Zahmer Kaiser. It’s the perfect place to switch off.
