Kiefersfelden has been my home from an early age. I’ve always been here and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. My father was from Kiefersfelden and my mother came to live with him in this beautiful village. When we were little, we lived on the so-called Schreyerbichel. That’s the little hill that led to the center of the village back then. It was a great location in the village. We didn’t have far to go to school or church and we were right in the middle of life. There was still a lot going on in the village at the time.
I did my apprenticeship in Rosenheim in what was then a large private department store and in 1957 this department store became Karstadt. It was a great, beautiful old building that fitted in perfectly with the architecture of Rosenheim. Nevertheless, after work and the city, I was looking forward to returning to the village. I also got married here in Kiefersfelden and brought my two sons into the world and raised them here. I have simply always been a Kieferer and will remain so forever.
The Kiefersfelden calendars are something very special for me. These calendars show old photos of our beautiful village, even from the time when I was still a child. Sometimes you can’t even imagine what the village used to look like compared to today. Kiefersfelden has developed and grown a lot. Many of the meadows where I used to play are now built on. Nevertheless, the village has never lost its charm for me. My father can also be seen in some of these photos. These calendars were created by someone from Kiefer and as long as he continues to produce them, I will continue to collect them. I own every single issue.

The Theater house of the "Ritterspiele", the knights plays, was always a very magical place for me. We went to the performances very often as children. Not just every year, for every play, but actually every Sunday, for every performance in the summer. If we waited until the first intermission, after the first act, we were often allowed to stand on the side and watch the exciting knight stories for free.
