“Kiefersfelden is family, security and home. I feel safe here and proud to be part of this community.”

Kiefersfelden is family and friendship. My closest family lives here and most of my friends. You greet each other on the street and feel safe. I simply can’t say it any other way: it’s simply home. All the events are formative in a way. Be it the beer tent, the Village shooting competition, Kurpark Open Air or the former village festival. People come together and enjoy life. It’s great that our club life continues and that people are not too shy to organize events - despite all the work. Everyone knows that it benefits the community and keeps the community together. No matter where I go, there’s always someone I know. I can go to the Kaktus (or the Pilsalm in the past) on my own without meeting anyone in particular. Those were and still are often the best evenings.

Being a Kieferer makes me proud. Proud to live and grow up in a village where neighbors not only greet each other politely but also know each other. One of the best feelings is when you drive back after a vacation and you drive into the valley of our mountains and know “now I’m back home”. I can walk home alone (as a woman) in the middle of the night without being afraid. If the community wasn’t so strong and all my friends and family weren’t here, I would have gone to Italy. That was always my dream, but being close to home was always more important to me.

Maybe it sounds stupid, but my brother is my home. He always wears the belt buckle and embodies his and my love of classic cars - especially for Zündapp. My brother has always been my rock and we learned to stick together early on. Wherever my brother is, I feel at home and I’m glad that neither of us was ever drawn away from Kiefersfelden. One of my favorite and funniest memories is when we had a storm-free day and he got me out of bed at 4 a.m. as a matter ofcourse to have a beer with me around the campfire at Kieferbach with a friend.

My place is the terrace of what was then Café Danner (now Pizzeria U Centru), which my grandparents had leased. As a small child, I used to sit there and always had a small jug of soda, which I poured into a shot glass. I was also allowed to serve the regulars’ table and licked the beer foam when grandma wasn’t looking. So I guess it’s clear why I’m a waitress today and why I like beer. No thats a joke but it learned me a lot, for sure to love the work i am doing now.
