In my village, I not only find a home, but also a family and a multitude of experiences that shape my life. The regular events such as the Kiefer beer tent and the village festival bring us together and offer opportunities to meet old acquaintances and make new friends. It’s a place that gives me a sense of security and where I feel at home in the midst of nature and the shared festivities.

And I am happy to say - I am a Kieferer.
In addition to the festive traditions such as the parades of the shooting club, which I was allowed to take part in with my grandfather as a child, and the Perchten on St. Nicholas Day, my village is a place full of special memories and personal development for me. The excitement I felt as a child when the Perchten paraded through the streets is still with me today. It was exciting to go home and listen to see if you could hear the bells of the Perchten in the distance and wonder what would happen next. These experiences have made my village a place that I love and that keeps calling me back. It is the place where I have spent my life so far, where I grew up, where I have lived. Laughed, cried, made new friends, ended others, lived my life.
This object has a very special meaning for me. It is the wheel that hangs in front of the Pilsalm. Unfortunately, it has been closed, which I think is a great pity, as the Pilsalm was a very special place for me to get together and a very special place in the Kiefer. The Pilsalm was a small bar where young and old met at the weekends. What was particularly nice for me was that it was a place where you went after the actual going out. Usually at a later hour, but sometimes just to have a drink. Many people went to Rosenheim, Kufstein or somewhere else before they went to the Pilsalm - also called Alpe or PA - and then went to the Pilsalm afterwards before they went home. Everyone told each other how it was and you could be sure, even if you didn’t go out together, that you would still meet up there. It was so nice because there were so many different people there, from young to old, and even if you had different interests when going out, for example, everyone came together in the Pilsalm.

It was very difficult for me to decide on ‘one’ favorite place in Kiefersfelden. In the end, I chose the place where I spend the most time and that’s the small “terrace” in front of our wooden hut in the garden at home. I sit here almost every day when I’m at home and the weather is nice. I enjoy the view of the Kaiser, the nature and the feeling of home. I love sitting there and it just gives me a good feeling to look out over the village and be close to my family. If the Pilsalm still existed, it would probably be written here.
